Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

When it comes to drug and alcohol rehabilitation, what is the best program and what is the first step I should take in getting help? This is a common question people ask regarding treatment for addiction and one of the things we can help a person out with. The most effective type of rehab program available is a non 12 step drug rehab. Non 12 step treatment teaches a person how to live life with out drugs instead of teaching them that they have some sort of disease.

Once a person has been taught how to live life with their drug of choice, then giving them the tools to remain sober is very important. One of the tough things for a person to do is come out of rehab and then live a drug-free life but also get back on their feet by finding a job and living situation. In a situation like this, an aftercare program can become very helpful.

Aftercare for a person who has completed a drug rehab is really important. Most of the facilities may offer a little bit of counseling but really finding out what the person is good at and then placing him in an area that is positive and locating a job that will aid in the addicted individuals recovery. Sometimes returning home after a person has completed a drug rehabilitation program is not always a good idea. We would recommend a non 12 step rehab with a great aftercare treatment program after rehab is done.

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

When is a person is desperate for help, and needs to find an effective rehab program immediately, where should they turn? What type of alcohol and drug rehab should they choose? We will discuss the different types of treatment programs available for people. There are basically two different types of rehab, traditional treatment that offers the 12 steps, and an alternative treatment program called a non 12 step rehab.

Traditional treatment programs that use the 12 steps have a much lower success rate. The highest 12 step rehab is about a 5 percent success rate, in which many don’t even have a success rate because all they do is replace one drug for the other. One you replace one drug for the other the person is still addicted to drugs and then ends up becoming addicted to more. This is one of the worst things a person can do in a drug rehab center.

The non 12 step drug rehab centers offer a more common sense approach to addiction. They help a person realize why they first started abusing drugs and alcohol in the first place. Most of the non 12 step rehabs also offer a biophysical drug rehab program well. The biophysical treatment naturally detoxifies the body to remove drug residues from the tissues to eliminate cravings for the drugs. With the biophysical treatment and cognitive counseling, the non 12 step rehabs offer one of the most effective treatment programs in the nation.

If you are trying to find where the most successful drug rehabs are located in the US than you should start looking in the state of Florida. Florida drug rehabs are very effective because they don’t have such a tough licensing enforcement which allows for more alternative drug rehabs provide treatment for people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. An effective drug rehab in Florida should provide detox, counseling, and life skills therapy.

The longer the Florida drug rehab is the better. Short term programs don’t have a high success rate. Also an inpatient Florida drug rehab center is much better than a person doing an outpatient program. If you’re looking for a Florida drug treatment program, than I would recommend a non 12 step treatment facility. The 12 steps are old and not effective and offer no real solution to help a person overcome drug and alcohol addiction. There are a few non 12 step rehabs in Florida and this type of treatment is what we recommend. The philosophy in the non 12 step is that addiction is a learned behavior and that in order to cure a person from downward spiraling of addiction, a person must first learn how to live life without drugs. This does not happen in 30 days, rather it takes a while for a person to not only change but also than to learn to apply it to their life.

Hopefully this information will help you when seeking a Florida drug rehab. We can always assist you in finding the right program that will help either you or a loved one overcome addiction. We wish you all the best in a successful recovery. Addiction can be overcome with the right drug rehab program.

What Is Holistic Treatment?

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Over the last few years holistic treatment has become very popular for drug and alcohol addiction. Twenty years ago, the only type of treatment offered for people were the traditional 12 step programs. After years of unsuccessful rehab, the 12 step programs are finding themselves becoming an antiquated medical service and a resource for billing insurance. Many people who can’t afford treatment are subject to the 12 steps because they are state and government funded and most insurance companies will pay for them. This is the result of great lobbying the 12 step program has done with the pharmaceutical industry and insurance companies.

With such a low success rate, there is now a new form of treatment that provides a common sense approach in dealing with addiction. Non 12 step rehabilitation believes that addiction is a learned behavior rather than an incurable disease. Being a learned behavior the non 12 step drug rehab teaches a person life skills in order for the person to fully recover and make good decisions in life like not taking drugs.

Remember, when researching drug rehabs make sure that the program uses a non 12 step approach and holistic treatment. Make sure that even if the rehab says they are holistic, double check that they do not prescribe medications like anti-depressants as treatment for the underlying issues. This only masks the problem and does not allow for the addicted to individual to learn how to cope and deal with problems in life.
